Quick update from Security, couple days late for the monthly meeting but had to get votes in.
We took a break from any major development for the Security Ops team for a couple of months, but after some time off a small issue was brought up. Our backbone of security, the actual Flight Marshals and Flight Escorts, never really had any true structure and thought put behind them. We just went off the obvious thought process that they would be defending flights and added some fluff and made it a little more in depth. However, after the success that our RSTA detachment has seen, we decided we needed to put a little work into our core structure. The previous plan had a Flight Marshal Service, and Flight Escort Service, 2 separate groups operating from 2 commands, with no actual assignments in them.
The restructure is really more of a re branding, and the IGAIR job designations of "flight marshal" and "flight escort" are properly placed somewhere, rather than being off on their own. Change is as follows:
New group formed- IGAIR Marshal Service
Organized in a fashion similar to a police department. Eric Smith is the Supervisor of the Marshal Service. Attached to the Marshal Service is an Air Wing, under the direct supervision of Gazoo. Flight Marshals and Flight Escorts fall into their respective sections. The Marshal Service is responsible for flight defense, VIP escort and Prisoner Transport Missions. They do not receive offensive style missions on their own. In the event that they are needed for offensive style operations, they will be lead by teams from RSTA.
New positions available interested IGAIR employees- Marshal Service
*The 2 available Captain positions report directly to Supervisor Eric Smith. These officers form the Command Staff of the Marshal Service, and will act like a mini operations team, under guidance from the actual Security Ops Team. Your job is to assist the Supervisor in mission planning and staffing, as well as being the first line supervisor to report to an incident. Candidates will not be granted rank just based of the desire for the role, you will be interviewed, and if accepted you will be put on a probationary period before the Supervisor decides you are ready for the Captain rank.
Marshal Service Air Wing
*Report directly to Supervisor Gazoo. Typically these officers are busy running between planned missions and filling leadership roles. Your job is to assist Supervisor Gazoo in running the Air Wing. Same interview process and probationary period as the Marshal Service.
The Marshal Service and RSTA detachment now form the complete IGAIR Security plan. They will remain under separate command as their actual mission is different, but the objective is the same.
